Symbolism, colors & shapes
Our saw leaf cactus is called Blade because its jagged leaves, reminiscent of a sharp blade, are inspired by the comic book hero «Blade» from the Marvel universe. The saw leaf cactus is a dazzling diva of the cactus world. Symbolically, it stands for hidden beauty and the joyful surprise that comes when you take a closer look. In the language of flowers, it is considered an expression of unconditional love and purity – perfect for special occasions where heart palpitations are desired instead of heartache. Feng shui enthusiasts see it as a protective charm against negative energy, making the home a little safer, but definitely more stylish. Its shoots can grow up to one meter long and have wavy edges. And: this plant is also known as the crocodile tail cactus or fishbone cactus. In short: an elegant, robust and stylish companion that brings love, color, and a little mystery into the home.
Origin
The saw leaf cactus, Epiphyllum anguliger, is the rising star among leaf cacti: instead of the ground, it prefers treetops. Originally from the tropical rainforests of South and Central America, it lives as an epiphyte and therefore does not root in the ground, but comfortably on bark and sometimes on stones. Its flat leaves not only give it a distinctive look, but also a touch of exoticism – perfect for anyone who wants to combine greenery with a sense of adventure. In short: a stylish tree-dweller with cool leaves that transforms your living room into a mini jungle.
